Unspoilt nature and freshwater creeks bubbling in the midst of forests so very much characterize the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. This is the ideal terrain to make a fisherman's heart jump up with joy.
In response to much demand, we have pleasure in offering web pages on Fishing in Inland and Border Waters of the Grand Duchy. These pages give details of the different species of fish stocked in Luxembourg's waters, but also of the legal requirements (licenses, minimum catch length, when to fish what, etc) in order to fish in Luxembourg. |
It is well worth noting that many a Country Hotel have their own fishing grounds which are open to guests, and where the chef will be only too pleased to cook the day's catch for your table. (eg: Hotel du Moulin) Please email us for further details.
And -talking of cooking- you might like to check out some typical Fish recipes from Luxembourg.

Friends
of fishing might be interested to hear about the House of Fishery
("Haus der Fischerei") in Oberbillig, just across Luxembourg's
border in Germany, the other side of Wasserbillig. The House of Fishery
offers a unique experience centered around the subjects of fish, fishing,
and local waters, not only catering for the fisherman, but also offering
many additional attractions, such as the multimedia Fishery Museum, which
presents on two floors many intriguing and surprising facts on both the
history and the current state of the regional fishery. In addition, the
historical fishing boat "Resi", anchored on the river Moselle,
just outside the museum can also be visited.
